The fun begins...

A *week* of solid twelve hour days spent UV mapping and I'm surprised my mind is still intact. Man that was annoying, but neccessary.

And now that work starts to pay off. Bloody hours to properly map the nose, and this is the result after just 20 minutes of texture painting. :)

Must've been worse than politics. I feel really bad for you then. Hope it's lean on the frames when it's done.

May I make a suggestion. Please do not add any engine smoke effects to it.

1. They kill a dozen of fps.
2. It's not that pretty.
3. It looks like the plane's on fire, from a distance.

Maybe that's just me, but engine smoke effects are useless.

Cheers :)

Luckily the L-39 has a relatively smoke free engine, except for startup of course, or when it catches fire.

I was looking at aso.com and saw how much the L-39 was, and then I said DAMN! It's only 269,500$ as opposed to the 1 million+ I had in mind. Just a little fun fact I found out about...
What I find ironic is that the L-39 is half the price of an sf.260 marchetti! That's also something that made me wanna say DAMN!

Just a lil' side note, I'm thinking of Wisconsin when I'm seeing your fsx screenshot in this post

Mugar, yeah, much like a classic Lotus, not all that expensive to buy, but keeping one? ugh! The maintenance on these is fairly brutal, though they are quite self sufficient aircraft, have their own built in APU etc. The only thing they require besides fuel away from home is compressed oxygen for the cockpit.

$269k though is a bit low, an L-39 in mint condition will be well over $350k usually, unless that aircraft is very basic avionics wise. Most have had serious upgrades once in private hands.

Wisconsin? Haha nope, Edmonton, Alberta actually, but just as flat. ;)

Wow, the latest images are awesome! I particularly like that color scheme.

Have you changed your "Memorex" picture, or is it just me? I notice too much. :)

Thanks Jet, and just wait, it's gonna get a *lot* better looking in the next 3 weeks.

And yes Vlad I changed the picture to something more complete.

Ooooh, I like those "heavies" kill markings :P I have to have a heart valve replaced on Monday, but the prognosis is very good. Wow, maybe by the time I get out of the hospital and back in the saddle, this thing will be ready to rock! :)

Damn man, that's no small operation, but it sounds like you're pretty upbeat considering! Keeping a good attitude can get you through a lot and I wish you the best for it!

And the plane will be another six or seven months in the making, so no breath holding hehe. Glad you approve so far though. I think she's gonna turn out pretty well. :)
